The parcels and letters have started to come!

by Peter Fogarty

Some of the gifts which got through Romanian Post!

Some of the gifts which got through Romanian Post!

Yesterday night I found I had a parcel waiting for me - I was hopeful it was the long lost whisky I was sent 2 years ago or the missing snow shoes I ordered before Winter, as a man needs to keep hopeful.

I was naturally really thrilled to discover that in fact it was the first three parcels people have sent us. Tom sent us a book on how to look after a baby - lots of it Irina already knows and agrees with (lots of course she also thoroughly disagreed with - such as the concept there was more than one type of milk), but it is nice for me to read and learn as the baby manual which came with Victor.

We loved Lucy's book, mobile (it is in the kitchen, waiting for a sunny day!), and her teddy - which is at present about the same size as Victor, but it will be loved when he is a little bigger.

Simon Spurr's family sent us a great Photo album, which I half look at as becoming a diary or such like for him - it is certain to be used in a special way or for a special purpose, such as for showing the photos to the family in the countryside. We also loved the bibs and clothes as we can never have too many bibs!.

We also got a few nice presents from friends in Romania, such as another small bear, and more clothes and we are thrilled Victor is so loved already and this is before anyone meets him!

Everyone wants to say another big thank you for sending such generous gifts, and they will all be put to excellent use over the next few months.
