Organic food near Dracula's Castle

by Diana Ursachi
(Bacau, Romania)

Local delicacies in Transylvania

Local delicacies in Transylvania

These are some traditional foods (smoked cheese, dried sausages, 100% berry juices, etc.) that locals would sell to tourists who visit Transylvania. Many locals have little tables (or campers, as in the pic) in front of their houses which face the freeway, where they display these goodies. For the gourmets: the cheese is usually aged in pine bark to get a certain flavor and taste, and then smoked at pine wood fires.
