Intercontinental Bucharest: Why stay at this hotel?

Intercontinental_Hotel_2

Intercontinental BUCHAREST4 NICOLAE BALCESCU BLVD • BUCHAREST, 010051 • ROMANIAFront Desk: +40-21-3102020 • Fax: +40-21-3120486

It is 90 m tall and has 22 floors, containing 283 guest rooms, operated by InterContinental Hotels Group. While no longer the tallest building in the city, it is the tallest hotel and very centrally placed. Rumour has it that it has its own anti-shock absorbers, so it will be the place to be if Bucharest is hit by another big Earthquake.

When my wife was a little girl, you could eat at the top of the hotel, overlooking all the city. I went there a few years ago to book a table at the top but sadly the restarant at the very top of the hotel was closed to the public. The highest 2 floors (21 and 22) now contain conference rooms and a health centre with an outdoor terrace, indoor swimming pool and fitness centre.
