Cheile Nerei - A Natural Wonder!
Cheile Nerei in Beusnita National Park (Source: Public Domain:Wikipedia)Nerei Gorges are a formation of gorges along the Nera river in Caras-Severin, between localities Sasca Romanian and New Sopot. A marked tourist path crosses the gorge, as shown in the photo, but requires crossing an old wooden bridge, directly above the Nera River. While you are here, be sure to also visit Dracului Lake (upstream), and Cascadele Beusnitei and lake Beului eye downstream. This nature national park occupies the area south of Anina Mountains and the northern part of the Mountains Locvei, occupying an area of 36,364.8 ha. It is an excellent place to come and explore and enjoy some tranquility by a river.
