Bucharest airfare - where to find a great deal!

Do you want to find a really great Bucharest airfare? I always go to http://www.skyscanner.net for my deals. I find them the best starting point for any really investigation.

Why do I love using Skyscanner? It is simple - they let you type in where you are leaving from and where you are going and they then search down all the cheapest deals for you. The more fun aspect of this, one I use a lot when I want to dream about getting a holiday at last, is to choose Bucharest as my departing airport and then let it find me the cheapest deals to well anywhere else. It often comes up with amazing offers and I think wow - my wife always brings be back with a bump reminding me we have a small baby, a very sick mother, not that much free cash and heading off to Switzerland for Christmas is not something to dream about as she pulls me off my comfortable computer chair and guides me back to the washing up.

I have written a lot about the airports and how little I like them. I read words yesterday, which agreed with my own in a local tourist magazine. They agreed if you fly to Bucharest, ignore any signs which say trains this way as you need to get on a bus which will take you even further out of Bucharest, dropping you off at a train station (at least you see a little green) before heading back into Bucharest on a very irregular train, into another part of Bucharest, Gara de Nord, where another set of unsavory characters will try to rip you off.

There are lots of cheap places around Bucharest that offer cheap flight to Bucharest or from Bucharest. Look for the Blue Air shops - if you can book well in advance, if you can navigate their confusing flight times, you can get yourself a really bargain.

Also, don't overlook the national carriers such as British Airways who often offer better Bucharest airfare offers than many of their low-cost rivals. This is a fact I never have understood - as surely as soon as the low cost plane prices match a real airline, people who buy the national airline tickets which get them into decent airports, where you are fed and watered en route without paying extra.

The only website I don't like is WizzAir because to find out how much you need to pay after tax, added expenses etc you need to be well down the path of completing all their form and submitting all your details - surely telling me the basic final cost plus tax can't be hard to work out. Also when I last tried it, Google Chrome, the browser I use, started pointing out security worries in the website, at which point I decided I had had enough of dreaming and indeed kissed my wife, did the washing up, cleaned up after the baby and went back to practicing my Romanian for another one-week holiday at home!
